The Case for Online Tutoring
Online tutoring has come a long way. Our sessions use interactive whiteboards, shared documents, and screen sharing — making it genuinely collaborative, not just a video call. Here's when online tends to win:
Your child is self-motivated and focused
Students who can sit still, follow along, and engage without a physical presence nearby do just as well online as in person — often better, because they're in their own comfortable environment.
Scheduling is tight or unpredictable
Online sessions can happen at short notice, during a lunch break, or even from a laptop at a holiday resort. No travel time, no waiting for the tutor to arrive.
Budget matters
At AED 799/month for 8 sessions, online tutoring gives you twice the number of touchpoints for roughly half the price of home tutoring. More sessions means faster progress.
You want a specific specialist
Online removes the geography constraint. If your child needs a very specific A-Level Further Maths tutor or an IB HL Chemistry specialist, we can match them regardless of where the tutor is based.
The Case for Home Tutoring
In-person tutoring at home creates a structured, distraction-free environment with a physical human presence — and for many students, that makes all the difference.
Younger students (Grade 6–9)
Younger children benefit enormously from physical presence. A tutor sitting beside them can notice a puzzled expression, take the pen from their hand, or draw a diagram on the spot — something a screen can't replicate as naturally.
Students easily distracted by devices
If your child tends to switch tabs, check notifications, or drift off during video calls, a physical tutor creates accountability that's hard to replicate online.
Hands-on subjects
Maths problem-solving, Physics calculations, and Chemistry — where working through problems on a shared piece of paper is faster than typing or drawing on a screen — tend to flow more naturally in person.
Relationship matters to your child
Some students learn best when they genuinely connect with their tutor. That relationship often forms faster in person — especially for students who are shy or reluctant learners who take time to open up.
What About a Hybrid Approach?
Many of our families do both. A student might have one home session per week for deep problem-solving and one online session later in the week for a quick check-in on homework or exam technique. Our plans are flexible — talk to us and we'll design something that works for your schedule.
Our Recommendation
If your child is in Grade 10–12 and can focus independently, start with online tutoring — the cost savings mean more sessions, and more sessions mean faster results. If they're younger, easily distracted, or in a critical exam year and you want maximum impact, the extra investment in home tutoring is usually worth it.
