A-Level Physics tutoring that actually works

The right A-Level Physics tutor makes the difference between guessing on exam day and knowing exactly what to write. Our tutors don't just cover content — they train the exam technique that gets marks.

🎓

A-Level Physics Specialists

Our tutors hold degrees from Imperial College, UCL, NYU Abu Dhabi, and Edinburgh — and know the A-Level Physics syllabus inside out. Only 1 in 8 applicants make it through our vetting.

📋

Mark Scheme Trained

We don't just teach content — we train students on exactly what A-Level examiners reward. Students learn to write answers that match the mark scheme, not just answers that are technically correct.

🔍

Diagnostic-First Approach

Every student starts with a diagnostic so we know exactly which A-Level Physics topics to target. No time is wasted on things your child already knows.

FAQ

A-Level Physics tutoring — common questions

Is A-Level Physics harder than IGCSE Physics?

Yes — significantly. A-Level Physics introduces calculus-based reasoning, more abstract field theory, and much harder mathematical problem-solving. Students moving from IGCSE Extended grade 7+ will still find the AS year a major step up. Our tutors run dedicated bridging sessions covering the IGCSE-to-A-Level transition topics before the full A-Level course begins.

Does my child need strong maths to do well in A-Level Physics?

Yes — A-Level Physics requires simultaneous A-Level Maths knowledge, particularly differentiation, integration, logarithms, and trigonometry. Students taking Physics without Maths (rare in Dubai schools) will find it significantly harder. Our physics tutors are all maths-competent and integrate mathematical problem-solving into every session.

What are the most frequently failed topics in A-Level Physics?

Electric and gravitational fields (combining conceptual understanding with complex equations), capacitor charge/discharge, and SHM are the most commonly failed topics. These require both a visual-conceptual understanding and precise mathematical manipulation. Our tutors use worked diagrams alongside equation training for these topics.

Should my child do A-Level Physics or IB Physics HL?

A-Level Physics (particularly CIE) is generally considered more mathematical and calculation-intensive. IB Physics HL has a broader conceptual scope and includes the Internal Assessment. For UK university applications, A-Level is standard. For IB Diploma students, Physics HL is the natural choice. Our tutors cover both thoroughly.

How is A-Level Physics assessed — are all the marks in written papers?

For CIE A-Level Physics, there are three written papers: Paper 1 (MCQ), Paper 2 (AS written), and Paper 4 (A2 written), plus Paper 5 (planning and analysis). Edexcel and AQA have similar structures with practical endorsements rather than a separate practical paper. Our tutors cover all components including Paper 5 planning questions.
